Brian Cronin

Brian Cronin was born in Dublin Ireland in 1958. He obtained a B.Sc. in Graphic Design from the National College of Art and Design, Dublin in 1981. After college he joined The New Art Studios in Dublin, and Artist collective based in Dublin Ireland. In 1984 his work was exhibited in a touring group exhibition with three other artists to Irish venues under the collective title of’668′. At this time Brian also began receiving illustration commissions from ‘In Dublin’ magazine and ‘The Irish Times’.
In 1985 he moved to New York, receiving commissions from ‘Rolling Stone’, ‘Time’ and ‘The New York Times’.

Brian Cronin’s Drawings / paintings are published regularly in major international periodicals and publications some of which include ‘Time’, ‘The New Yorker’, ‘The New York Times’, ‘The Boston Globe’, ‘The Washington Post’, ‘The Los Angeles Times’, ‘The Times London’, ‘Liberation’, ‘Rolling Stone’, ‘Marie Claire’ (German edition), ‘Harpers’, ‘The Wall Street Journal’, ‘GQ’, ‘Cosmopolitan’ (French edition), ‘Business Week’, Outside, Audubon,
‘Le Monde’, ‘The Atlantic Monthly’, ‘Esquire’ (US edition) and ‘Newsweek’.

His work has also been published in many important illustration annuals such as ‘American Illustration’ (editions 7-29), ‘The Society of Publication Designers Annual’ (editions 24-29), ‘European Illustration’ (editions 16-18), ‘The Art Directors Club Annual’ (editions 68-70/72-75), ‘Communications Art’ (editions 37/38), ‘Graphis Annual Reports 3’ and ‘The 1997 Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles Annual’. He has exhibited his work regularly since 1989 in The Art Directors Club Annual Exhibition, N.Y., The Society of Publication Designers Annual Exhibition, N.Y. and the American Illustration Annual Exhibition, N.Y.

He has also exhibited in group exhibitions in Europe The United States, and ASIA .
Brian Cronin has received several awards for his work including Gold Medals from The Society of Publication Designers Annual Exhibition. The New York Art Directors Club. Gold and Silver Medals from the Society of Illustrators New York and The Patrick Nagel Award from The Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles
