Catfight Club: Learning from Marwencol at One Mile Gallery invites visitors to step directly inside the world of Marwencol—this time at full scale.

At the heart of the exhibition is a life-size recreation of Mark Hogancamp’s legendary Catfight Club bar, originally built in miniature at 1/6 scale in the Marwencol universe. For the first time, Hogancamp’s tiny bar—where soldiers gathered between battles and rivalries played out—has been expanded into an immersive environment visitors can enter.

The gallery transforms into a working wartime barroom complete with bar games, prizes, photo opportunities, and staged scenes drawn from the Marwencol storyline. Guests are encouraged to dress in WWII-era military attire—soldiers, resistance fighters, nurses, and spies—to become part of the unfolding theater of the space.

 In Hogancamp’s world, the Catfight Club bar is more than a place to drink—it is a stage where alliances form, rivalries flare, and powerful women dominate the narrative. By recreating this iconic setting at human scale, Catfight Club: Learning from Marwencol turns the gallery into an interactive set where visitors can step into the drama, inhabit the characters, and experience the strange, resilient universe Hogancamp built from memory, play, and survival.
