One Mile Gallery is pleased to present Jess Stapf: Fontanelle, a special two-day pop-up exhibition featuring the Hudson Valley artist’s immersive installation, fresh from its recent presentation at Saratoga Arts.

Working across sculpture, installation, and drawing, Jess Stapf creates environments that explore the body as a site of memory, transformation, and connection. Her work draws upon organic forms, architecture, and lived experience, blurring the boundaries between the physical and psychological. Through carefully constructed spaces and tactile materials, Stapf invites viewers into environments that are at once intimate and expansive, familiar yet quietly uncanny.

Fontanelle continues this investigation through an installation that considers vulnerability, resilience, and the porous relationship between self and environment. Named after the soft membranous spaces of the infant skull that allow for growth and change, the exhibition uses the body as both metaphor and material—examining the ways we adapt, heal, remember, and remain open to transformation. The work unfolds as an immersive landscape where sculptural forms, spatial interventions, and subtle gestures encourage close looking and quiet reflection.

Recently exhibited at Saratoga Arts, Fontanelle reflects Stapf’s ongoing interest in creating experiential works that reward slow engagement. Rather than presenting discrete objects, the installation encourages visitors to move through and inhabit the space, discovering relationships between form, material, and memory.

This special two-day presentation offers Hudson Valley audiences an opportunity to experience Fontanelle in the intimate setting of One Mile Gallery.
